Tigers News · Daingerfield Sweeps Elysian Fields, Lady Tigers Remain Perfect and Tigers Push For The Playoffs


Elysian Fields came to Daingerfield tonight in search of some basketball victories and they left empty handed after all the Daingerfield teams were victorious. Both the boys and girls Junior Varsity teams started off the night with wins (JV Boys 52-42 and JV Girls 26-25) followed by the varsity girls who remain undefeated in district play and in first place with a 41-39 victory, and finished off with the varsity boys keeping their playoff drive alive with another victory, 59-48, and maintaining their threshold on the #3 spot in the district race.

The Lady Tiger varsity game was tight the ENTIRE game with the Lady Tigers going in at the half time up by 1 point 20 – 19.  At the end of the 3rd stanza it was all tied up at 27 – 27.  After several lead changes Daingerfield finished with a 41 – 39 victory.

TaQuasia Latchison:  12 points, 4 rebounds
Jaclyn Garrett:  8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals
Mon’trevia Durham:  4 points, 2 assists, 4 steals
Diamond Jeter:  3 points, 2 steals
Joi Akinsuroju:  1 block, 1 steal
Genesis Allen:  7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
Daingerfield Lady Tigers are now 18 – 6 on the year and 12 – 0 in District 15 3A play.
Daingerfield will travel to Ore City this Friday, February 7th.
The junior varsity Lady Tigers won 26 – 25.
