Waldie Selected Coach Of the Year

Daingerfield Tiger head football coach Mike Waldie was recently selected by his district coaching peers as District 7-3A Coach Of the Year.  In coach Waldie’s first season at the Tiger helm, the Tigers captured the district championship, advanced to the Bi-District playoff round, and finished the season with a record of 6-5. Tigers Named To All District Academic Football Team

Congratulations to Dalton Morgan, Zachary Gilmore, Jakauri Woods, Jose Mendez, and Judson Pollan as each were selected to the 7-3A All District Academic Football team.  Not only did they work hard on the field and weight room, each maintained a 90+ average in all classroom studies. Way to go Dalton, Zachary, Jakauri, Jose, and Jud!

Former Tiger Everett To Hand Out Jim Thorpe Award

Former Daingerfield Tiger, Baylor Bear, and Dallas Cowboy player Thomas Everett will hand out tonite’s Jim Thorpe Award to the nation’s best college defensive back at 6pm on ESPN.  Everett, a 1983 DHS grad, was the first recipient of this award in 1986.  After a sensational collegiate career, Thomas became a Two-Time First Team

8th Grade Boys Win Gladewater Tourney, 7th Grade Boys Take 3rd

The 7th and 8th grade Tigers traveled this past weekend to Gladewater where they played in their respective divisions of the Gladewater Junior High Basketball Tournament. Junior High Tigers Take Two Tonight

The 7th and 8th grade boys won both ends of tonite’s doubleheader against Hughes Springs at Hanson Gym. The 7th grade won by a score of 27-18.  The 8th grade followed up winning by a score of 36-26.  Both teams remain undefeated in district play with a record of 3-0. The next scheduled game for
